Matthew sloop scammed over 100 home owners out of thousands.
EDIT mid-Oct: Matthew returned our money yesterday. Court date was scheduled for today. We ran into him a couple of times over the course of the last several months (being a small town). He was understanding of how poorly this situation reflected, and he was apologetic. After these run-ins, he was a bit better about communicating. My gut says he’s an alright guy; just gets himself into sticky situations. I can’t comment on his work and he may do a good job. The installation of our patio went well (at a cost of $14,190), but after 3 years the pavers are disintegrating (Keystone Hardscapes, Venetian pavers). We asked Matthew to take a look at the patio. He was difficult to reach, then set up an appointment with us and didn't show. We will pursue a warranty issue with Keystone (and then small claims court) - but Matthew should be helping with this. We don't hold him responsible for the product, and would have been ok with sharing the cost of a new installation - but he won't work ... read more
