I’ve stayed in plenty of Econo Lodges, and this is by far the worst one. If you have the option, I strongly recommend choosing a different hotel—even if it costs a little more. To start, they don’t offer cribs or playpens, which is a huge inconvenience for families traveling with small children. For parents, this alone might be a dealbreaker. The only place I will stay in Cochrane. Good price, very clean, nice little breakfast in the morning and it is always well priced.
A standard Econo Lodge type of room, it was large and clean. The fan in the bathroom made horrible sounds when running for more than 1 1/2 minutes. The AC unit sounded like it was bubbling water or something. The guests next door had a domestic during the night, with 2 or 3 kids crying, a spouse yelling, another spouse trying to comfort the kids. Check in was amazing. I was rather disappointed with my two night stay here this week. First, on check in, the person was not at the desk. The two other men waiting to check in had been there over an hour. I phoned, the person was out of the motel. This was at 3:40. We left, and did get checked in on our return at 4:20, but it threw off our schedule. The air conditioner was very noisy, and the bed felt as if there was sand in the sheets. We were woken up the first night by a family fighting, and children yelling.
