It was a dumpster fire, and at least borderline fraudulent (through incompetence if not malice). I was trying to recycle a few old phones (minimal value but a few bucks is a few bucks). The first phone went fine. On the 2nd phone, the process sat for a while, said "unable to evaluate", and it said to take the phone back but the door never opened.
