Guides were great. Bio bay itself was underwhelming.
No recomiendo Eco Action Tour ni ninguna otra compañía de las que están allí en Fajardo.. Una vez oscurece, la visibilidad se vuelve muy limitada y es fácil enredarse con las ramas de los mangles, lo cual representa un peligro. Éramos un grupo de 24 personas con apenas 3 o 4 guías, lo que me pareció insuficiente para manejar tanta gente con seguridad. I have several complaints about this activity. As soon as my family reached the check-in booth, we smelled this horrid sewer like smell. This is the closest to vomiting I've come in years. We found out right before getting in the water that the smell was from algae (I think sargassum). The smell was hydrogen sulfide gas, which is a known toxin. They had us wade through water waist high right near the decaying algae to get into our kayaks. Then the trip began. We were bitten by insects throughout the whole trip. Many of the k... read more
Positives: Guides were very nice, fun and helpful. Negatives: The area around the entrance smells. It's the decomposing seagrass but be prepared for VERY strong sewer type smell at times. Also you will have to walk in the water WAIST DEEP to get to the kayaks. Bring extra change of clothes! Wear water shoes too. If you're inexperienced at kayaking, I don't recommend this tour. The channel to the lagoon is very narrow and and it gets very dark, so if you're a first timer, it is difficult. We did see bioluminescent plankton in... read more
