We recently smelled propane gas from our tank. We called to report the problem, and a technician (Douglas) responded within an hour! He found that the regulator was leaking, replaced it immediately, and had us back to a normal operation within minutes. Not only was the problem identified and resolved quickly, but the company refilled the tank without charging us for the replacement gas because the loss of gas was an equipment breakage rather than caused by us. If you like dealing with the fact that this is now a big corporate entity, this is for you. Initially this was Trexler-Haines (family owned) then acquired by East Propane and now is Boston-based Superior. My most recent encounters with them have been upsetting and I finally changed to a local family owned provider. Classic case of corporate and private equity takeovers that plague the current business environment.
Had trouble with their customer service department getting callbacks got a hold of one person asked to have a supervisor call. Me never received that phone call. So I finally decided to cancel their service found another propane supplier called to have their equipment picked up which took like four weeks. They finally sent a technician out to pick it up who was very professional with my wife. the tanks were returned with 50 gallons of propane in them.
