A simple call to their office and within minutes I had 3 plumbers calling me back. Each gave me a different ETA so I took the nearest one. Plumbers normally arrive with a portable debit scanner so no mad dashes to the bank in this heat. At least the full time ones do. The part time ones we're expected to pay cash. $400 for the first hour to unclog a kitchen sink. Extra $50 for every hour afterwards. Quoted my parents $8000 to repair a crushed pipe. Turned out the pipe wasn't crushed at all just had roots intruding into the pipe. City cleared it out for free.
