The hospital is very dated, I expected the quality to be of a higher standard equivalent to other private hospitals in Sydney. My surgeon, Dr Yeo, was great and so were the nurses who gave me excellent care. The anesthetist, Dr Watts, was unnecessarily patronising. Being treated like this was very disappointing and unprofessional when in a vulnerable situation.

If you are coming late to pick up a loved one, make sure you press the button near the letter boxes. No instructions, no signs, no one to pick your phone up. Surely they would have thought of this ??

Very unhelpful receptionist by the name of Angela, was insisting on me paying a $500 excess fee even though i told her several times that it was paid and i was willing to show her the amount been debited from my account. Would not attempt to call my health fund to confirm payment or the previous hospital. I had to do her job for her. Cold and unprofessional girl.

I recently had the privilege of staying at East Sydney Private Hospital, and I cannot express enough how incredible my experience was. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely cared for by the amazing team of nurses. Abi, in particular, stood out with her special healing and caring energy—it’s clear that nursing is her calling, and she is truly making a difference in this world.
