I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with the service we received at your Howick, Auckland medical centre on Saturday, June 14th, 2025. We arrived at noon with a deep cut on my wife's finger. We were informed there could be a four-hour wait due to a high volume of sports injuries, which we understood. A nurse saw her after 30 minutes and confirmed a doctor would need to assess the cut for potential stitches. Very disappointing experience. Took my child to Easy Care Urgent Care and waited over 3 hours to be seen by a doctor, even though it was under ACC. The centre is misleading, as they still charged a fee on top of ACC, and the X-ray (also under ACC) was charged as well. When questioned, the reception simply said it’s a private clinic, but the standard of service was worse than public care, with a total wait time of more than 2.5 hours. I recommend looking at other urgent care options nearby.

Don’t come here unless you have a broken limb. I arrived with a decent enough dog bite. Advised a 3 hour wait. 5 hours later still waiting. Advised 10 patients ahead of me with an only two in the waiting area from when I arrived and with another dozen waiting with me. Triage is questionable with a number of people came and left while i was still there. Need a transparent triage

Over multiple visits to this clinic, only 3 out of 7 staff were actually knowledgeable and helpful, the rest were very unhelpful and provided incorrect or substandard support, costing me even more money. Half the treatment plan i had to provide myself. To top it off, one of the head clinicians (labeled by himself) went on a borderline psychotic yelling tirade about ACC management while he was supposed to be assessing my condition, then provided an ACC medical certificate with incorrect information. I’m writing this review to raise awareness about my recent experience with Dr Richard Chong, who attended to my daughter at an urgent care clinic. Before posting this, I took the time to read about him. Many sources describe him as a calm, dedicated, and compassionate GP.
