Deserted yet nice – I guess i went on a day where not too much was going on but i didn't mind....it was a romantic getaway and being in the beach semi-alone, enjoying the scenary was nice....the sand wasn't at all dirty...there were many volleyball nets so if you were looking to do that...the harbor was close by, with its shops and restaurants and shops....the water was clean, surprisingly...and there are trolley tours available....

It's a long beach and gets filled up just over the summer, mostly by tourists. The locals know the best parts of the beach are further down where Sat. & Sun. East Beach is the prime spot in Santa Barbara to play Beach Volley. Be there early (8:30AM) or all of the courts will be taken and there are about 20 of them! deserted – I couldn't believe how empty East Beach was. Definitely a place to come to if you want to be alone. There's not many waves, but the fish will come and swim around your feet. The water's unbeliveably clear, too.
