As a true wilderness novice, this weekend course was just what I needed. At the same time, it proved to be very useful for my cohorts who had an existing survival skill set. The instructors were fantastic and were able to teach attendees across varying levels of experience, age, and physical ability!
First experience with survival training, great teachers, very informative, excellent place to learn, but above all that, the practical, hands-on work really makes the difference.

Wilderness 101 was a great overview of many survival skills with about half the time practicing hands-on skills and the other half lecture. There was so much to cover so you don't become an expert in any particular area but it left me wanting to dive in more. As an avid Backpacker and Scout leader, I'm looking forward to sharing the skills I learned with Scouts and using them on future backpacking trips.
