The Eagle Mining Co. is a must-stop every time we’re in Julian! Our tour guide, John, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but absolutely hilarious, he had us laughing from start to finish. The experience is super kid-friendly, with tunnels to explore and gold panning that kept the little ones totally engaged. I read quite a few reviews and most people thought this place was great. The highlight of this is being able to walk through a gold mine for a total of maybe 100 yd, taking about 45 minutes. I guess I didn't get the informative tour guide a lot of people mention they got in the reviews because this guy talked about almost everything except mining. The tour was great. Very informative. Only complaint was the tour guide. He was very rude to a young boy that was having a hard time in the mines. Very unprofessional.
This was a fun stop on our trip to Julian. The kis enjoyed the mine tour and panning for gold. The old equipment in the mine was fun to see and the mine is pretty authentic giving you a good throwback to the gold rush era.
