Joe seems like a stand up guy at first, but the more you deal with him the more you realize it’s just a face he puts on to lure new people into giving him money. We were really excited to work with Joe to do an engine swap on our NC, and what he promised sounded amazing! And once he had our signatures everything started going south. Joe didn’t return our calls, couldn’t deliver on dates he promised, and then turned around and blamed us for damage to the car that had resulted from the shoddy engine he had installed. I had a 2006 6-speed Miata GT with a blown factory engine. After doing some research online, I shipped the car down to TX from CT right before Christmas for a 2.5 L swap from a Ford Fusion - a stock engine with Dynotronics' special tuning. The work was done in less than a week. I flew down to get the car right after New Years with the intention of driving it home. Joe did a 2.5 swap with stage 2+ cams for me when my NC1 2.0 died, and at this point I’m really happy with the decision, experience, and result. I flew into San Antonio Monday the 30th, spent an hour at his shop going over the work, and was in Alabama by midnight. Made it home to GA the next day with no dra... read more

This summer, the engine in my NC Miata gave out, and I decided it was time for a swap. After calling several local shops, I was quoted anywhere from $6,000 to $9,000 for engines with nearly 100,000 miles on them. That price seemed way too high for me, so I looked on the Miata forums and saw that the 2.5 swap seemed to be a better option. I reached out to Joe, and he explained the whole process over the phone. His price was better than anybody else— $3,900 out the door for the swap, shipping the car from Oregon to Texas, and ... read more
