I was reluctant to go to Dr. Dyer largely because of the 3.7 review on here. However, when I didn’t have another option for a timely appointment, I decided to give her services a try. I’m so glad I did! She is really amazing: thoughtful, helpful, supportive, and she really cares and hears you. I finally had a moment to read the one star rating on here. Dr. Deb Dyer is a top-notch psychologist and an expert in the field. I think the crazy 1 star review she received actually speaks to how good she is at actual therapy- it's hard to tell clients the truth and many counselors would probably just give in and tell clients what they want to hear- that is actually very harmful. To be honest with clients is what a true psychologist would do. That's the only way to gain perspective, and to elicit change.

Dr. Dyer is a great counselor for those who are ready to do the work of counseling. She is straightforward and won't just tell you what you want to hear. She is supportive and caring while also challenging your own negative or self destructive thought patterns. If you want someone to agree with whatever you say and let you continue with self destructive or detrimental decision making and life choices, then see someone else. If you want someone to work with you to make positive change in your life, I recommend Dr. Dyer.

Reconsider a counselor (Dr. Dyer) when a counselor should be helping a client work through difficult times instead of telling them misconstrued information. Why tell a client that the person they love is a Fantasy.
