My mother fell on 4/18/2020, I was told she was fine. When I called on 4/19/2020 (AM), I was told that she had been to breakfast, back in her room and was doing fine. I asked the staff member to check on her and ask her how she was. After a pause, she came back to the phone telling me my mother was in her room, doing fine. Two outright lies! At 3:15 pm (4/19/2020) my mother was dead. I was told by one of the staff members who called me to tell me about her passing; she had not been out of bed all day. My mother fell a week ago and her night nurse called my sister whom was in the doctors office for eye infection, she was informed that our mother had fallen in the shower, and fell on her back. Our mom suffered from dementia and said her knees hurt. I called Durham Assistant Living and spoke with her charge nurse and asked them to please take our mother to the ER or Urgent Care.
