Good hospital. Some of the people at the desks aren't very nice at all. They are the ones that deserve to be rude the absolute least, especially in a hospital, and especially in an ICU.

I initially gave this post a lower review of wondering why I keep hearing and seeing this noisey black helicopter landing at this old school building. For an Aucklander, I thought it was a tour helicopter as part of Otago Uni or the wider Dunedin. Two weeks ago I was on a cruise to New Zealand. I had had a procedure done prior to leaving Australia and it became infected on the seas. I was hanging to get to Dunedin to get assistance. The staff were just such lovely helpful people right from the moment I arrived to my departure. I was taken care of so professionally by everyone, things were done so I could get back on the ship by days end. A specialist was called, she was just wonderful. I have lived in Dunedin my whole life and can easily say Dunedin Hospital and their ED staff have got to be the most useless in our country. I avoided coming in earlier with very bad chest pains only to be turned away by my own GP & told to come here. Have been sitting here for over 7 hours while they see sprains. The poor women in front of me just fainted and is pregnant, she was here before me and the admin staff (which appear to out number the medical staff) told me to calm down when I cried out for help.
