We ate at the Restaurant at Doctor Sax several times while staying there for our wedding weekend. We had breakfast and dinner there, a welcome dinner buffet, and an after party of late night bites. Everything we ate there was stunning, particularly anything on their sourdough bread, their unique charcuterie spread, and their salmon and steak dinners. I had dinner here this past weekend with my wife and a few friends. From start to finish it was incredible. I would highly recommend it, the service, food, and atmosphere were sophisticated and excellent. Best restaurant in the area.
The food and the atmosphere were amazing. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t as good as it should’ve been. We both had the hanger steak, but we each got one and a half fingerling potatoes surely that could not be the proper amount. Also, about 45 minutes after the mean we delivered to the table I had to go into the kitchen to find my server. We visited Doctor Sax for my birthday dinner. We were looking for an upscale option that wasn’t too pretentious, but still offered delicious food and this was it! The building and decor are amazing. Our server was so attentive, gave great recommendations and even sang to me. From beginning to end our meal was outstanding. Every ingredient was d prepared to highlight its natural qualities while also working in harmony with the other elements on the plate. We highly recommend a visit!
I was really hoping to like this place. After having friends praise the food and drinks, we went into this with positive thoughts but my fianc�e and I both thought the service was exceptionally slow, drinks overpriced, and food was fine. The smoke show cocktail was given to us on the couch. There was no smoke nor smokey taste. I was expecting maybe a woodchip smoke or something for $26 ($7 more than the classic old fashioned).
