I had a very disappointing experience here. The restaurant automatically added a 20% service charge to the bill without letting me know, and then the Clover payment screen also prompted me to add a tip again—which I did, thinking it wasn’t included. So I was charged twice for gratuity. This feels dishonest and misleading. I won’t be coming back to Dulce Vida— it’s basically a scam to get double tips...
Extremely disappointing experience due to the owner’s behavior. We had a 6:00 PM reservation for 9. By 6:05, six guests had arrived and we immediately ordered six appetizers and two bottles of wine. At booking, we were clearly told there was a $25 per person minimum, which we agreed to. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience due to the owner’s rude and unprofessional behavior. We were asked to leave the restaurant under the claim that there were other reservations, even though there were clearly no reservations booked at the time. The restaurant was empty. Extremely Unprofessional Management Our book club had a confirmed reservation and a negotiated price of $25 per person. Only 36 minutes into our appetizers (2 platters of mini empanadas, 2 mini arepas, 2 plantain dishes and 2 bottles of wine), the owner called the table to harass our organizer, demanding we leave early and attempting to increase the price to $35 per person.
