I have been with Duke since I was a kid from endocrine, pregnancy, primary care, etc. However, I feel my time is not valued with Duke Orthopedics. Each time I have come I’ve waited for over an hour to be seen. I understand things happen. However, it surprises me that not one person comes in to give an update or anything on the wait time. I purposely make my appointments for the morning time to hopefully avoid this. We are expected to be here 15 minutes early and if we were late, we would get charged a no show fee.

Was in severe pain, did not help that the nurse named Betty was extremely rude and inconsiderate. From my interaction with her and seeing the office, it seems like she doesn’t just treat the patients this way, but also the other staff members. The employee at the front desk named Diane was very kind and thoughtful though.

I like my doctor just fine but I have waited an hour to see him every time I come in. I thought the first time was just a bad day, but no. It seems to be the norm. And why does the staff always seem so miserable?

My husband has not even been scheduled yet, but Marlene at the front desk has gotten our experience off to a rough start. She spent the call intermittently laughing at my husband, who is simply trying to get an MRI script that we can take outside of the Duke network, due to the horrifically long wait time to get scheduled. We called the number we were given, and apparently answering the phone, AKA, doing her job, is wildly inconvenient for her. I highly recommend going to Duke Orthopedic Heritage the staff is phenomenal
