Worst neurologist I have ever seen Can’t be bothered with anything. He doesn’t do peer to peer He doesn’t take very good notes Can’t be bothered with anything that requires paperwork He basically pretends for 10 minutes that he knows what he’s doing
Yes, he sometimes seemed rushed and acerbic, BUT he ended my 4 year battle with CFS (Chronic Fatique Syndrome) that no other doctor at Duke seemed interested in tackling. I did have a long 10 minute conversation with him once, most other times about 4-5 minutes. I have probably seen him 5-6 times. His position as the head of Duke Neurology has to be very stressful and sometimes it shows. I had been having medical issues for a year and a half before I saw Dr. Peterson and he was able to zero in on my diagnosis right away. No other physician had been able to even give me even an idea of what was wrong. It takes a while to get in to see him but I would recommend him to anyone having trouble getting a diagnosis. He definitely knows what he's doing!
After looking at the 5 star reviews I'm thinking that I might have got Dr. Peterson on a bad day. He seemed very knowledgeable but he had the personality of a roof shingle and never made eye contact with me once. He barely listened to me because he was in such a hurry to get out of there. Then he said he's be right back and never came back! A nurse came back instead. Honesty, if he's good at what he does I don't really care. Dr. Peterson is a very talented and dedicated doctor. He is great with follow through and remains accessible for questions. His affect is very clinical, but that's often the case with highly skilled doctors. I highly recommend him.
