Duke Energy has customers pay all kinds of extra fees. Rider, clean energy, storm recovery, and more. We need electricity, Duke knows it. They are in a win, win, win, for Duke, and customers pay so many extras.
Customer service is horrible. I have had to create 3 separate work orders to replace a bulb on a street light for which I pay a monthly fee. The first work order number they gave me mysteriously disappeared from their data base because "they had no record of the light even existing", even though I have been paying for it for the past 25 years. The second was canceled with no explanation from Duke Energy. The third - well, it remains to be seen if this one is addressed. A bulb replacement takes 5 minutes. This company simply ... read more
The are rude as hell.
I had some questions on residential solar. Unable to reach Duke by phone, I wrote a letter asking for information. No response. My next stop will be the North Carolina Utilities Commission. They are located exactly 26 miles from my home.
Anne from the Tampering department is that girl. I crashed out on the phone with her & she helped me all the way through it. 🫶
