While I can empathize with the previous post regarding the frustrations of dealing with maddening communication snafus in a large health care facility, I feel compelled to say that I was extremely impressed and grateful for the very caring, professionally skilled health care team at the Duke Voice Center. In particular, I highly recommend Leda Scearce who was the voice therapist I credit with directly helping me reverse an early stage of COPD while simultaneously helping me to regain the joy of being able to sing again.
I’ve been waiting 2 days to schedule because I need to get a call back from the “financial consultant” since I am paying out of pocket. This whole process has been very dehumanizing, I have been sent around in circles talking to rude people with no understanding of the process. Truly shameful that this is Dukes standard of care.
