There are special places in the US and this is one of them! The largest public collection of Hostas in the country. Many gardens, flower collections and displays. The terrain offers many photo opportunities with ponds, bridges and waterfalls. It is mostly run by volunteers who do an exceptional job. ENJOY.
It is a very pretty place, and relaxing when quiet.
The Sunday concerts in the summer are a great offering... too bad they get spoiled by rude people carrying on loud conversations while the entertainment is playing. There seems to be no effort from the staff or management to remind people to be courteous. I know of many people who won't go any longer because of this. It's rude those that are there to enjoy the show and it is rude to the sponsors and rude to the entertainers. I can't imagine the Symphony or the Grand putting up with it at their events... Great park and always has been. I would suggest posting on the website or somewhere visible that their is a cost to take wedding pictures here. Extremely disappointed with the staff member who berated and yelled at my photographer for not knowing this. A friendlier approach would have been welcomed, as we were happy to pay the fee.
