Wonderful pharmacy staff that goes above and beyond/provides local neighborhood pharmacy sort of attentiveness and care. I noted that some others have had perhaps one time negative experiences, but I really think that this particular Duane Reade pharmacy location provides that friendly caring local neighborhood feeling, and I’m very grateful to them for their willingness to help and patience in answering my calls. It has kept me coming back. I also noticed that the phone wait time has improved.

For years I used the Duane Reade Pharmacy at 1191 second Ave until they closed. Since then I’ve been coming to this one and hating it. The only thing I can count on is that they will never have the prescriptions ready on time. Whereas the 2nd Avenue store always filled prescriptions the same day, if I put in a refill request before they open in the morning, this store requires 2.5 days to get the job done. So if you’re looking for an efficient pharmacy, keep looking because this is not the place.

When I got there only one person was ahead of me waiting for their prescription. The pharmacist told me the prescription wasn’t ready and I asked if I could wait for a half hour until it was. She said it wasn’t ready, they were too busy and it wouldn’t be for another hour. Usually they are nice and allow me to wait 20 minutes to grab it. I normally wouldn’t show up early but I needed to take the medication in the morning. I walked all the way home just to get a notification 15 minutes later that it was ready.
