Excellent Surgeon. Don’t doubt his expertise and experience- it’s second to none.
Dr Cockburn did a skin graft due to removal of a bcc on my scalp. This followed by a flap procedure to remove the graft. It was amazing. I have full confidence in his talent which is also praised by my skin specialist. I’d only go back to him.
In January 2019 I suffered an accident which resulted in a large ugly hematoma on my leg. I was referred to a Plastic Surgeon by my GP, however upon inspection he stated " 25 years ago I would have operated and carried out a skin graft, however not now" he referred me to another plastic surgeon who also elected not to proceed. I was then referred to Dr Bill Cockburn at Wesley Hospital Auchenflower. He inspected the area and operated that day to drain the hematoma. Not good. I would strongly recommend seeking another opinion. I personally saw Dr William Cockburn at his office. His prognosis was to carry out excision during the consultation on area without consideration of a biopsy first. The result would have been significant scarring. His abrasive attitude and focus on inflated surgical procedure costs caused me concern so I sought a second opinion. A biopsy from the second Doctor revealed no extensive treatment would be required.
