While I haven’t attended The Brook Retreat myself, I’ve seen the difference it’s made in the lives of people close to me. The growth, strength, and peace they’ve found speaks volumes about the care and support provided there. I’m truly grateful for the role this place has played in their journey.

Imagine needing help and getting a bunch of clock watchers who don't care about your wellbeing. When you tell them you want to leave, they threaten to mess up your medications. Even the medications you were on. Everyone here is court mandated. No one is here voluntarily. The good staff gets fed up and quits. The brainwashed staff just gives a regular script dialogue. Im talking about you Keith. No help just another insurance scam

I understand how structure and not too much independence is needed for the beginning of your recovery journey, but I think there is also a flip side to the spectrum of too much supervision. The sober house feels more like a halfway house/ jail. I love the program and the house is nice, but it's over priced and the ruled and managers are overkill. Yes supervision is needed to have a good recovery, but being a helicopter like parent doesn't help either.

The intake person called the police on me after I stated that I was not a danger to myself nor anyone else, nor did I have a plan to hurt myself nor anyone else. This led to an intensely stressful situation for myself (autistic with MDD and other conditions) and my partner. It was a completely unwarranted call, and makes me question whether ANY mental health providers can be trusted now. Additionally, they have been unresponsive to my requests to obtain the records of all our communications. AVOID THESE PEOPLE.

We were so worried about our son, but Brook Recovery kept us informed and gave us our boy back. The way they involve the family in the healing process made a huge difference for our recovery journey. We felt confident that he was in the right hands.
