I took my wife's engagement ring and wedding ring to Dream Jewelers so they could be cleaned and replated to white gold. They took a lot of time inspecting both ring's stones and documenting the inspection before they even would accept the rings to work on them. They even showed me that one of the tiny diamonds in my wife's halo was not a real diamond. I was impressed with their inspection.
