Go there if you need to feel better about yourself. – A real dive, and not in the "Oh, what a quaint little place" sense of the word. If you're not a regular, you're really not welcome there. And if you're not a veteran drinker who's drinking to get plastered, then you will really feel out of place.
Friendly neighborhood bar - but not in a neighborhood – The Dram Shop is nothing fancy, and indicated only by the Old Style sign from more than a few doors down, but it is a nice friendly place to stop and have a drink. The regulars are nice and the bartenders are great, so it seems like a neighborhood bar even though it is in the middle of the bustle of lakeview/broadway.
