I love this restaurant! – This is funny to me. Some people seem to really love this place...on the other hand, some people seem to really hate this place. From my experience, I found this place to the best of the classy 'upscale' Asian restaurants in town. I suspect that the 'haters' here must have their own agenda. I worked in China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) for 6 years, and lived in Vancouver for 3 years before moving to Chicago. Dragonfly, without a doubt, has the best food in town.
terrible – can't believe this place gets such a high rating..the food was horrible, very generic chinese food...very expensive too.. stay away...
Consistent quality – I live in the neighborhood, and I frequent Dragonfly at least once a week, whether it be take out or dine in. The food is always high quality -- hot and fresh. Additionally, the service is always on point. This is far and away my favorite restaurant in the area.
Raw Chicken. YUM!! – What began as an enjoyable evening was marred both by the waitress and the arrival of the entres. I had ordered the lemon chicken and was dismayed when it arrived thoroughly raw!! When brought to the attention of the waitstaff and then the manager, the most offered was another entre of overcooked chicken and $5 off of the evenings bill. Satisfied tummy – Great high end Chinese at a great value. Very satisfied.
Fun and hip – The food was great and the atmoshpere was fun and hip. I had a great time. Great people watching and definetly a change of pace in the Gold Coast neighborhood. Refreshing!
Simply Wonderful! – I love the food. I love the atomosphere. Its sexy. Its fun. We started with the calamari. It was so fresh! For entree, I had the crispy sesame chicken. The very generic dish is drastically different here. The chicken was fried perfectly and still crispy under the spectacular sauce. My date had the peking duck. Delicious! The service was wonderul. Overall, I had a fantastic experience.
GREAT EXPERIENCE – My experience at Dragonfly was wonderful. The food was great, the atmosphere very posh, and the service was very friendly. Some of the best chinese I have ever had!
