I have been seeing Dr. Sami for several years, and she has always handled my issues professionally and without judgement. She considers the health and wellbeing of the whole person, not just the mental health side. My mental health has improved remarkably since I switched from my last provider. She knows her stuff.
She is terrible at ensuring prescription renewals actually get to the pharmacy - I have had several occasions where I have had to make multiple calls to the pharmacy and the office to ensure that something is actually being processed and it usually takes days to correct leaving me without my medications. She was my mother's psych for about 8 years in the 2000s, and seeing these reviews tells me she hasn't changed one bit - she over medicated my mom for her depression and schizophrenia, kept her so sedated she could barely get out of bed, but whenever she would mention the side effects (in the rushed 15min appointment she got once every other month, if she was lucky), Sami would just add another pill to deal with the side effects, rather than assess the cocktail of 10+ pills she already had her on. very unprofessional doctor she never give you time to speak about your problems , she totally spend 7 min with me only !! she didn't let me explain everything without interpreting me every time I talk , don't recommend
At one time she had me on 14 medications. She ignored blood tests. 5 minute visits. Doesn't take phone calls. Building is not up to ADA laws. She owns the building and racks up visits to pay for what is behind. After 4 years of treatment she absolutely freaked out that I was getting medicine from my primary MD. She called ME 6x in one day because she didn't know what she had prescibed!! She is dishonest and there are PILES of charts everywhere. BEWARE!! NOT SAFE!!!
I feel like she doesn’t really care. If the AMA recommended leeches she would use leeches. She takes recommendations as set in stone rules. My anxiety levels have been off the charts but I don’t even bother telling her anymore because for what has kept me sane and functional for 30 years after being diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety she somehow decides to change and/or eliminate my medications citing the AMA recommendations. Unfortunately, it not easy finding new psychiatrists right now.
Dr. Zeba Sami is the consummate professional with wonderful communication and people skills. I've been a patient of hers for 12 years and she has always been consistent, kind and brilliant in regards to all facets of her practice.
