This is the first time in my 14 years of being diabetic that I feel like I have a true team member that is actively engaged in my care. She understands how difficult it is to manage diabetes and she is willing to talk about all aspects of managing the illness. We all know the drill of "diet, exercise and medication" and without the "lectures" she is able to the reasons why compliance is so hard. She expects improvement and small steps toward a healthier life. I would recommend her to anyone with diabetes.
Dr. Kipgen is a great diagnostician in the field of Endicrinology. It has been a pleasure to deal with her on a professional basis, I know I am a healthier Type 1 Diabetic because of her!
She prescribed a synthetic T-3 component that put me in the emergency room. Then left me on Cytomel and reduced my synthroid. I am now with another doc that has me on NatureThroid and I feel great.. Avoid this doctor if you can.
Business response:
Naturethroid has T3 in it at far higher doses than most humans have...as this form IS from pigs and cannot be adjusted without affecting both the T3 and T4 values
Kipgen's behavior in my experience was the worst I have ever had in ~30 years of dealing with endocrinologists. She (or her staff-hard to distinguish) will not tolerate questioning of line of reasoning. She sent labs to an out-of-network provider, w/o my consent, for which I am now being told that I am on the hook $3000 for something that I would have been covered. As a parting gift, she intentionally wrote a prescription for a partial fill so that I would have to pay full price.
Business response:
this is simply not true...the lab was free and a partial prescription would have been written only for a valid reason. Some patients get upset if the doctor does not give them what they want vs what is best for them
