EDIT. This neuro ended up firing my special needs child after I posted this review. My problem wasn't even with her it was with her receptionist. For my child to be retaliated on because I brought attention to the way her receptionist talks is crazy work. She didn't even call me and communicate to me like a grown adult to hear the whole story. I had incredibly uncomfortable conversation with a man I'm assuming is the receptionist. I've spoken to a man with a very heavy accent and he's nice. But yesterday a man called me back whom I have never spoken with before. Long story short my children are traveling all summer long so I had to call in to get my sons anti seizure medications. I think it important to let parents know that 2 really important key facts. 1. You are legally entitled to a second opinion and that request must be met without additional cost and within a quick amount of time & 2. Just because this “dr” holds the monopoly on all of Vancouver Island, doesn’t mean that you are not able to access another neurologist (if even by zoom or telehealth) in a different part of the province, let alone in the country. Our experience with Dr. Wambera was deeply disappointing and, frankly, traumatic. For over three months, she was responsible for our infant daughter’s neurological care during an incredibly frightening time. Despite this, she never once met our daughter in person, never spoke with us directly, and never took the time to understand what we were living through.
