As other reviewers noted Dr. Chiu is friendly but does not conduct adequate skin screenings. I have a history of pre-Melanomas and when I saw her for the first and only time, she spent 60 seconds looking at my skin. I’ve never had a dermatologist not use a magnifier and take less than 15 minutes closely looking at my skin. I have many moles and spots as well. While pleasant, she was fast, and I felt superficial
I left Dr. Chiu because I felt as if she was in a rush. I found another dermatologist who did a biopsy on a dark area under my right eye that Dr. Chiu had previously said 'nothing to could be done about'. Well, I learned today that that dark area is now a melanoma and will require surgery.
I am very happy with Dr. Chiu. She knows her stuff, inspires confidence and gets the job done quickly and with minimal fuss.
She missed a melanoma. Fortunately it was caught early enough but I would not recommend her for screening for melanoma.
Spends no time listening to thoughts and concerns. All appointments have been comprised of her in the room for less than 5 minutes.
