Terrible. I have been seeing him for over 3 years because my cardioligist refered me to him because he thought I have cancer. Since then I only have a prescription for an iron supplement, numerous immense blood tests and initially he wanted me to see a Indian doctor at Tulane Medical Center. I told him I will not DRIVE to NO but in his report he lied and said I would not see this doctor. I would gladly see this doctor in Slidell.
(Pro) Wonderful bedside manner, efficient, caring, Positive Vibes. He cares about your healthcare. He really does give you a full examination, concerns are addressed via my Ochsner, phone calls and in person, (Overall ) He doesn’t treat you as if you are not trying to do the best you can when you see. He is very personable and easy to talk to. He will answer your questions and help you understand your diagnosis.
Sharp is kind of a rude inconsiderate person. He act like he's better than everybody around him. I think he's made some poor choices.

Found myself in the emergency room at 1 am Sunday morning with severe pain caused by a hernia. Dr. Mercadel was extremely kind and knowledgeable and made sure I could follow up with a surgeon asap. I just wish he was my forever doc, he is that good.
Explains everything and patiently answers all questions
There is NEVER a wait under 30 minutes. Sometimes the wait has been over an hour - and this is just for a med change. Tried to get a medicine change 1 day after my appt but was told that I have to go in again to see him - even though I had just come from his office 24 hours prior. I wish there was a good pcp in slidell that took my blue cross.
