I’ve been seeing Dr. Patel for 3 years now. My experience as his patient has been excellent. I drive 2.5 hours bc there is no one else who better understands the complications that go along with Dysautonomia & EDS. I don’t understand the negative reviews here.Yes, wait times are sometimes long. I was notified ahead of time that is a possibility, but that’s because he actually spends time with his patients.I’d rather wait an hour or two for a great doctor vs 15 minutes for a healthcare puppet.
I never even got to meet Dr. Umesh. First, when we called to confirm my appointment for 2:15pm, they told us they had an earlier opening for 1:00pm. Great! We accepted the 1:00pm appointment. When we arrived, everything was normal. An hour passes, and we ask if they forgot to write me down for the earlier appointment. The receptionist (I regretfully didn’t get her name so you could avoid her) began boasting about how amazing Dr. Umesh is and that’s why waiting so long is worth it. Horrifyingly poorly managed practice. My 80 year old father waited 3 1/2 hours for Dr. Patel. When I called the front desk to ask how much longer it will be, the front desk had no idea. She said, "Dr. Patel isn't even here. We have no idea how long it will be." I explained that it's not ok to have a very disoriented, hungry senior citizen waiting for over three hours and she very helpfully suggested that we "just leave" and that she has no visibility into Patel's schedule.
