I have had two appointments with this person. I will never have another. The first one was short, but went well. She seemed very quiet, but attentive and apparently compassionate. I liked her and, some years later, scheduled another. In this appointment, she seemed very stressed. I told her about my health concerns but she seemed to have little interest in them. the appointment took about half an hour. She never examined me at all. My impression was that she was anxious to leave.

I found Dr. Kylstra to be extremely caring and compassionate as well as collaborative in my care. I provided some research articles about an experimental treatment for my condition and she agreed to try it with me. She was very reasonable and supportive. If I change Insurance providers again, I will be asking to have Dr. Kylstra take me back into her caseload.
Terrible physician who doesn’t listen to or respect what the patient says or feels. Unfriendly and hard to work with. She is the opposite of warm and fuzzy. Find another doctor and run!
Dr. Kylstra was not willing to work with me on my diagnosis. my symptoms had not been addressed, so I asked to get a vit D test and was told it was unnecessary. finally got a test from someone else...sure enough vit D deficiency. My husband hadn't seen a Dr or had blood work in 15 years, on his first appt with her he was told he didn't need any blood work because he was healthy because he exercises regularly and eats well. I do not agree with this approach.
We have been seeing Dr Kylstra since she joined the group. I love her demeanor and gentleness with her patients. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Kylstra claims she wants to work with her patients as a team, but that was not at all my experience. I am very involved in my own healthcare and had some specific tests I wanted done and she refused. She didn't think they were necessary. But I'd recently received a diagnosis that I felt did warrant those tests in order to get to the root cause. She didn't ask me any questions or express concern. She struck me as someone not willing to look at the bigger picture. Find another doc.
