You know, it's sad when a doctor you've seen before for a knee replacement won't see you because you have Medicare and Medicaid!! My mother can hardly walk and even though he takes Medicare, he doesn't take Medicaid and because you have both Medicare and Medicaid he won't even see her. He did her first knee on Medicaid and Medicare both but now he won't??? Bad business as far as I'm concerned!! I could understand if he doesn't want to take Medicaid but Medicare will pay so why won't he see her and take that one??? BAD BUSINE... read more
Great doctor, great at communicating, and a great staff! I think he is great.
As an RN of 38 years, I feel I am fully qualified to discuss physicians and their care. I can say without hesitation that Dr. Smitherman is one of the absolute BEST physicians and orthopedic surgeons anywhere. He genuinely cares about each patient, is amazing as a surgeon, and in general is so outstanding that I would not consider using anyone else for my orthopedic needs.
I found he and his staff to be amazing and total life savers for me where many of doctors never would try to help me. I had a TKR a year ago and can not be more pleased with the results!! I will go to him again and recommend him to anyone!
I looked for recommendations and several people I know and even strangers recommended Dr. Smitherman. I have had mutiple knee surgeries due to an injury while in the military but after the repair and cell placement he performed to grow new cartilage, I felt so much better. He and his staff are very caring and I’m so thankful to have them! I won’t go anywhere else for my knees. He’s known for knee replacements which is the next surgery I will have to have!
If you want a doctor who doesn’t listen and gives you 2-5 minutes of his time during your appointment, this is your guy. If not, don’t go see anyone but him. He is totally uninterested in his patients or working with them. Did injections but gave no post injection care instructions. When complications arose, he wouldn’t talk to me and the nurse they didn’t call back.. Instead I got a letter saying they were ending our doctor patient relationship. If you do decide to see him don’t ask questions
