Dr. Keifer did not seem to care much about my needs as far as scheduling the next visits in the Duke "process" for AVR since he determined, without talking to me, that the visit to the surgeon was "not critical". However, it was important to me to keep the process moving along as my medical situation brings much stress and anxiety to me. I wish he'd have asked me what I needed. We so appreciated Dr. Kiefer's personal attention with Mom's care last week. It gave her great peace when he checked in and chatted with her as well as with the others who were caring for her at Duke University Medical Center. We certainly realize that Dr. Kiefer is caring for many people with life threatening heart issues, but knew that he was also doing everything possible to get my 92 year old Mother's a-fib controlled as well. From the bottoms of our hearts - thank you. ~don
