After receiving the pneumococcal vaccine, my arm became swollen, red, and painful. Carlson told me it was a normal reaction and did not prescribe antibiotics. It was actually an infection, and I ended up in the ER twice before following up with my GP. Both the ER doctor and my GP said they would have prescribed antibiotics and did not understand why she did not. The delay caused unnecessary pain, stress, medical bills, and additional appointments.
