I've had Whitaker as my primary care physician for four years now, and she is a sweetheart. She listens to my ideas and is a great resource. Highly recommend for transgender and gender affirmation care. My only concern is that she is often really busy and it can take a long time to get an appointment with her. Clearly we need more docs like her out there to spread the load!
Dr. Whittaker is always willing to help me out with my medical needs. She is passionate about her job and treats me with respect that I don’t get anywhere else. Many other physicians get frustrated with my questions but she always takes the time to help me understand. I have complex medical issues and none of the specialists can compare to her level of caring. Very knowledgeable and sensitive! Here are just a few things Doctor Whitaker has done for me: - Ensured my immunizations were up to date - Helped me change contraceptives - Referred me to specialists that fit my needs - Gave me nutrition and exercise advice - Refilled my prescription while I waited for appointment with a specialist I could not ask for a better primary care physician.
Honestly, this was the worst doctors visit i've ever had. I used to work in a doctors office so i fully understand these reviews but i do feel like a little feedback could help here. The entire clinic was not on the same page from making my appt to the actual appt to leaving to following up. The MA was not helpful at all, did not smile alot and i felt like hated her job and it made my appt extremely uncomfortable.Tara was very nice, but not the MD for me, unfortunately i will not be back.
Dr.Tara Whitaker did not want to treat me as her patient to begin with with. It takes a caring compassionate physician to treat to someone with depression. The third time she had "gotten busy and forgot my medication" I was done.. This was her way of getting rid of me. Sadly her notes have left me with no PCP.No neurosurgeons St Lukes will even schedule me. 2 staff at different locations were honest enough to tell me I won't get care in Ada County.
Business response:
Dear Tracy, I sincerely apologize for your experience and if you are still struggling to find care, I want to assure you that my staff and I are committed to helping you in any way that we can. If you are still in the area and would like to discuss this further at any time, I would be more than happy to assist you. Best, Dr. Whitaker and staff and Capital City Family Medicine
