Dr. Charapata seems unwilling to listen to a patient's account of her own condition and is disinclined to discuss pain mechanisms or treatment options other than opioids, Oddly, his affinity for prescribing opioids is combined with an apparent compulsion to treat patients like junkies or con artists. Further, we ignorant non-physicians "can't possibly" (his words) understand his professional constraints. Some of his final words to my spouse, his patient? "I don't care about you." Clearly.
Great sense of humor that puts you at ease. Did a great job of explaining procedure and what types of sensations would be felt so that I could mentally prepare for what I should expect.
First time there, he was friendly, explanatory, to the point, and willing to figure out he can help me. Surgery isn't an option so trying to figure out how to manage my pain. I enjoyed my visit and hope very much to return( work comp) so who knows, I would go back even if it was with my insurance. Very concerned on how to help me manage with this since its going to be with me the rest of my life, very curtious on making sure I don't get to depressed also. Good Doctor!!
