I was charged more than $2,000 for a 30 minute consultation with Dr. Burnett-Bowie. When I reached out to her office, they said that they were allowed to charge more than $1,000 as an "office fee" because they are a "hospital-based practice" - and they charge these office fees to patients who have insurance (I was told that BCBS would have been even more). Since I hadn't met my deductible, UHC just passed the entire charge to me. Beware.
