Dr. Garton was the on call chat physician on Saturday, November 4. I don't think I've ever had such poor communication with a Kaiser doc. Not only does she have no bedside manner, she didn't even behave professionally to learn more about my symptoms before giving me a blanket answer.
Best most knowledgeable and personable doctor I’ve ever seen
I am a member of KP in Denver and was having great difficulty getting an appointment or even a callback to advise me about an urgent medical problem. Somewhat frantic, I signed onto the Dr. Chat line and thankfully Shannon was the ChatDoc. Not only was she supportive and caring, she got me appointments with two KPdocs in less than 40 minutes. Went to see Dr. Shannon Garton in the Avon Clinic with a sore throat and fever. She spent 10-15 minutes evaluating me and writing a prescription. Not displeased with her services, but what she charged for a really routine visit for a sore throat. I was charged $485.25 and it has been explained to me that there is a sign that (and I'm quoting the billing person) "a lot of people miss" that tells me I will be billed as if they were an emergency room.
