I had an appointment scheduled with this neurologist, but after reading the recent patient reviews — especially from others with epilepsy — I’ve decided I will not be moving forward with seeing them. These reviews matter. They’re honest, detailed, and come from people dealing with the same condition I’m being treated for. I have been a patient of Dr. Benbadis since 2000. Insurance got in the way a few times but either way, I made sure to have him as my only epilepsy specialist.
I am a supposed patient of Dr. Selim Benbadis, I am a three way epileptic, single mother of two toddlers who is having multiple types of seizures and they were supposed to come to my house and do a 4 day at home EEG study because of me having different seizures practically on a daily basis. They never rescheduled the eeg like they said. Dr Benbadis never calls in refill prescriptions when patients rely upon them to avoid having seizures. Any time I call for anything, there is a minimum of 40 minutes of waiting for someone to answer their phone.
One star because I cant leave no stars. Dr. Benbadis was my neurologist for 2 years. In the 2 years he rushed me into 2 brain surgeries which left me with more seizures. He allowed me to drive which ended with me having a seizure and wrapping my car around a metal pole. He then dropped me as a patient. Do not go to him. Or Tampa general for any neurological issues. Bayfront in St. Petersburg are way more educated.
