Excellent experience with Dr. Satyan Shah, Dr. Erin Allison, and recovery nurses and post-op nursing care. Everyone was kind, polite and caring. The facility was clean and well managed. Dr. Shah is an excellent surgeon and a pleasant man. Nursing staff who deserve special mention are Carey, Malaysia and Scott Slocum. They and everyone I met went out of their way to care for me, make me comfortable and make me feel at home. Highly recommend UNMH and Dr. Shah.

Excellent doctor, …I’m surprised there aren’t many reviews here on this site. . Check out the other health grades and medical review websites…he gets excellent reviews and deservedly so…I wrote a good review years ago and won’t repeat it here…But now, at almost five years cancer-free, and no longer needing to see the good doctor I’m once again expressing my gratitude to Dr. Shah at the UNM Cancer Center.
I'm sorry for the previous reviewer who had a less than positive experience there. I found just the opposite. Symptoms I had been experiencing were consistent with pheochromocytoma (adrenal mass), but the MRI pointed to a mass on my kidney. Dr Shah explained to my wife and I where there was no good way of gtting rid of the mass without taking the whole kidney.
