I am not a patient, but I know enough to be pretty sure that a 40 year old doctor doesn't have 42 years experience of treating cancer.
She organized my stem cell transplant. Her staff was competent and caring. I’m extremely satisfied with my treatment. I’m now in remission with a good prognosis. I’d highly recommend her to anyone considering a stem cell transplant.
Armed with the comments below I met Dr Larson w anticipated concern. But she rapidly disproved those concerns. Now in my 3rd cycle of care and having started reading up on my disease, MM, my list of ?s gets longer & she answers them all patiently, honestly and in language I understand. She spends whatever time I require, and since I’ve had some negative reactions to some of the meds, she sees me almost every week before the next infusion I see no evidence that she would prefer a computer to me
Found her aloof and uninterested in patients’ specific questions or condition. She does not give you information- she knows it all and that is enough, in her mind! Has very poor follow up on procedures and test results. Does not discuss treatment plans, options, patient needs. Wants to manage cancer from a computer screen! Very disappointed!
This is a doctor who rounded on my wife at UCLA oncology when she had cancer and was experiencing some side effects. This person couldn't even diagnose my wife when she was in a seizure state and left her in this state all day. Larson doesn't have a good attitude about taking care of a patients and when I was at the hospital I spoke with other who complained about her attitude.. She has the typical doctor god complex and acts as if she has all the answers but she doesn't. No bedside manner.
