Don't see this doctor if you need one. because he is a businessman rather than a doctor.If the procedure doesn't seem to be profitable, he just keeps putting it off. He's the wrong doctor, especially if you're seeing him for a hernia. Additionally, his surgical skills and post-operative care fell short of my expectations.My first hernia was operated on by him almost ten years ago, but I continue to have chronic discomfort and pains. I visited Dr Kim for a consultation for repair of a recurrent inguinal hernia. Despite his diagnosis, he refused to commit to performing the entire procedure, instead saying he’d repair the right side and examine the left while I was under anesthesia. He offered no explanation and shut down any questions I had about this decision, becoming combative when I simply attempted to ask the question. I visited Dr Kim for a consultation for repair of a bilateral recurrent inguinal hernia. Despite his diagnosis, he refused to commit to performing the entire procedure, instead saying he’d repair the right side and examine the left while I was under anesthesia. The worst doctor in NYC by far. Made me take 3 tests, told me I had something that needed to be treated, when I got prepped for the procedure, he sent in a student to let me know that they made a mistake and I did not need anything. Until this day, my medical records are not updated in My Chart. The staff is clueless and not helpful, no one ever explained my results properly. This guy and Mount Sinai are a disaster.
After 2 Dr. visits in Hartford, CT my issue was never addressed properly. Attending college in NYC, I found Dr. Kim, a preferred in network doctor. He was so knowledgeable, explained everything to me & my parents then scheduled surgery. He took the time to understand my busy schedule & the need to heal quick. He performed amazing surgery! The post op time he spent explaining the entire process to my family & me was beyond amazing. I highly recommend him & I'm grateful we found him!
