Dr. Maganti was the floor internal medicine doctor on duty in RWJ during my hospitalization this week. She sent a long term medication prescription to my pharmacy without knowing the history of my case and without even discussing with me. It caught me in surprise when I received the text message from pharmacy for pick up. My PCP who is an amazing doctor unfortunately uses Dr. (and I reluctantly use that title) Maganti as his hospitalist. She is extremely non-responsive, including with other doctors, refuses to call in specialists when patient requests, calls in specialists without patients knowledge or consent, makes unsubstantiated accusations and refuses to have a thorough medical discussion. She has violated HiPA by discussing patient’s care in front of others. Personal advice - stay far away.

This woman called my grandmother on the phone to tell us that my grandfather has stage 4 cancer based on a CAT scan and MRI. She is not an oncologist and has no authority to give anyone that news. Besides that, we have not seen her in two days and are left without any information. She is extremely unprofessional, nonresponsive, and morbid. She should not be allowed to interact with patients in such a manner.
