My husband was told by a surgeon over 2 years ago that he had to have a cyst in the pancreas removed. When trying to obtain a biopsy, an artery was cut, which formed a large haematoma next to the pancreas, requiring 3 days in intensive care. We went for a 2nd opinion to Dr Sameer Mihrshahi (Sam) of Macquarie GI, who showed us scans from 11 years ago which proved the cyst had not changed, and was not cancerous. Had the pleasure of Sam (as he introduced himself) taking my appendix out last night. Did a fabulous job with minimal internal intrusion so I’m not even on painkillers. His bedside manner was polite and relaxed which made me trust him completely. He was very good at explaining what was happening and the aftermath and answered all my questions with ease. I didn’t select him as I was a public patient but I would certainly recommend him if you have an option.
Took my husband to see Dr Mihrshahi and felt at ease from the moment we walked in. He was both professional and down to earth which was wonderful and an amazing sense of humour.
