Dr. Barkatullah is a fantastic doctor. I have been going to him for years and been in remission since. He is knowledgeable and always genuine- I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new provider!
This doctor rushed through our appt then scheduled me for a couple of procedures to investigate my symptoms. When my results came back in, they had from the office staff, someone who is not a nurse or a doctor call me back. She explained the findings to me, which were all mostly benign and positive but still did not explain my symptoms. They deleted my appointment an hour before it was supposed to begin because I do not do the confirmation thing. No doctor I have ever met will flat out cancel the appointment. AND that information was never disclosed when booking the appointment. I am autistic and I do not have the capacity for technology. I do not do phone calls or texting, I don’t even watch TV. I would have understood the rule if it was disclosed during booking, but I do not know how the patient is supposed to understand what they are not told.

Had a 2nd colonoscopy with him (every 5 yrs) and had as good as an experience as I could have expected. Every staff member at the UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook was highly supportive, thoughtful, and attentive. Dr Barkatullah had great communication and skill. It was a very positive process from start to finish.
