I will admit I can be a difficult patient because I do my research and I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Calandra has been amazing. The staff has been great, Dr. Calandra has been kind, empathetic, addressed my concerns and I honestly wish we could give more than 5 stars. Yes, sometimes there is a wait as they are a very busy office, but Dr. Calandra has never rushed an appointment based on my experience. I definitely would recommend him to other patients and have.
My husband had an echocardiogram in December 2022 and at that time we were told he was fine. He had gained an inordinate amount of weight, he had leg swelling, ascites, testicular swelling and a hoarse voice. Dr. Calandra said he could still work. He died November 2023 of cardiac AL amyloidosis. After I obtained his records after my husband’s death, the echo had findings of “speckling” consistent with amyloidosis. Dr. Calandra is a very kind and supportive doctor, he explains everything to you and also wants to know if you have any questions that he can answer for you. The wait time to see him is minimal and all the staff I have had the pleasure to interact with have been helpful and friendly. I definitely would highly recommend Dr. Calandra to anyone seeking a good cardiologist! ( He is also a very sharp dresser.)
